Fist camera trap pictures of lynx from Turkey

Current distribution of lynxes is among the widest cats in Turkey and density is at the level of 4-5 ind./100 km2,  this finding was extracted from the manuscript during reviewing. However now, one of the reviewer seems to be convinced that those who objected to lynx density and even began to use it themselves in different recent news.

Photographs related to the lynx and the offspring are very promising now because lynx  give usually 2 or 3 offspring in different parts of the country such as in Tunceli, Artvin, Kars, Hakkari, Antalya, Bolu at rugged and forested areas and they can be observed even near Ankara.

This study was conducted in 2009 and sent to be published in CAT news due to long assessment process and producing two issues in a year, it was published quite late after a time. I had also forgotten a long time to put in this blog page, too.
